Founded by one of London’s creative forces, interior designer William Yeoward, Screw Cancer is a charity with a powerful mission – to provide cancer patients with a tool that will help to provide some clarity in managing the challenge of their illness. Embracing today’s digital age, Screw Cancer is working with medical professionals to develop a dedicated App, where the information is personal to each patient, uploaded on departure from hospital, designed to replace confusion with clarity. William has discovered from his own experience that understanding can bring peace and positivity, vital in the journey through recuperation.
Following a chance meeting and sharing a mutual passion to make a difference where they can, Penelope Chilvers and William Yeoward have joined forces to support Screw Cancer’s inspiring work and mission. Penelope Chilvers has created a limited-edition pair of velvet slippers with an intricate needlepoint design by Louisa Ramsay, showcasing the charity’s logo, which will be given to all guests ahead of Screw Cancer’s launch event at Ham Yard Hotel in London this May.
“When William approached me with the request to make some slippers with an intricate needlepoint design for Screw Cancer, I was excited and flattered to get involved. Let’s face it – everyone knows someone who is suffering with this disease. The design is so clever – it makes you smile, it calls for action and makes a beautiful velvet slipper. I feel very honoured to be a small part of this huge project of William’s”. Penelope Chilvers
